You might remember I posted about an end table I got from ReStore during a BOGO sale. This post is all about the "buy one" that I walked out with that day.

Aren't these Pottery Barn banker's chairs to die for? Literally. My mom would kill me if I spent $400 on a desk chair! But mom! I would plead. Cute desk chairs are so hard to find these days!
Enter Buy One Get One week at the local Habitat for Humanity ReStore.

I forgot to take a picture before I started taking it apart, but you get the idea.
Priced at $62 I was a bit hesitant. But knowing the profits went to a good cause and that I could also walk out with a solid wood end table softened the blow.
I got it home and began woking on it right away. I was so excited to have a piece with so much potential! Now, it really was in good condition and I could have left it as is. But the medium toned wood wasn't doing it for me. With my PB inspiration in mind, I decided to paint him white. More specifically, Tailor's Chalk in semi-gloss by Martha Stewart.
I sanded the glossy top coat and gave it two coats of Kilz primer, sanding in-between.

I followed that with two coats of Tailor's Chalk and was really digging the way it was turning out. No distressing here, that's for sure. Though, it was still lacking a certain something. Inspired by some of the two toned furniture I've seen floating around the blogosphere, I decided to paint the feet of the chair a contrasting color. To save money I used the same warm gray I used on this file cabinet.
I taped off the feet as straight as I could and applied two coats.
I really love the way the unexpected detail really draws the eye down to the awesome casters.

I love it so much, but it's going to have to go up for sale. I'm a college student with bills to pay and I know this handsome guy could make someone very happy. I know I'd be happy to sit down and get some work done in this beautiful chair.

If you have ever developed tingly legs from sitting at your desk too long, you know a comfortable office chair is essential. An ergonomically correct chair will keep your blood flowing while you focus on deadlines and projects.
