Sincerely's Coffee Filter Light

Hello everyone!

I'm really excited to share this project with you. It has definitely been a labor of love. I'm sure you've seen these lights all over the web just like I have. And many of you have probably made them yourselves. Well, I finally took the plunge and am so glad I did! I'm sure you don't need a full tutorial, so I'll just offer up some advice and pretty pictures!

I gathered up all my supplies. It was really a pretty inexpensive project. (PS: I needed a lot more coffee filters than what is shown in this picture!)

Progress.

This was my working strategy. I would separate a bunch of filters, fold them and then glue them in batches. I also had some help from one of my lovely roommates who folded quite a few of these pups.

So close!

My biggest tip: Buy enough coffee filters! I ran out not once, but twice! It was so frustrating. I ended up using about 1,400 filters. I did pack them in pretty tightly though. You could probably get away with less.

I couldn't screw a hook into my gross plaster ceilings (if anyone has any tips on how to do this, please share!) so for now I just slung it over the curtain rod. Also don't mind my messy bed. I rarely make my bed. I take so many naps it seems counter productive!
Anyway, here it is!

I'm in love. I'm also totally inspired. I have another idea in mind using this technique that hopefully I'll be able to work on soon!

Let me know what you guys think. Has anyone else tackled this project? I'd love to see how it turned out for other people!

Sincerely,
Ashleigh

that is gorgeous. I might have to try it with my little daughter. She has the martha pompoms on her ceiling - this would be a nice different texture to add.

Ashleigh, You are absolutely adorable!!!!
And what a great project. This is a first for me. I have never seen this one before. I LOVE it!!!!! I would look great in one of my guest rooms. The fluff gives it such a big WOW factor!

Here's how to hang it up without putting a nail in the gross plaster. Use a 3M hook. They stick just about everywhere and hold too! I use them for just about everything.
I hope the suggestion helps.
My visit to your lovely blog made me smile. I'm so happy I stopped by!

If Your AC uses anywhere from 5 to 10 times more power on start-up than it does while running. With this burst of power comes a surge of heat that accompanies the electrical current. This heat damages the compressor, the terminals, the windings and run capacitor all vital components of your air conditioner. ac repair 77005
