new museum shoot

Part of my responsibility at BOMB Magazine is to go to our events and shoot photos of everyone having a really great time. Last week, we were at an amazing venue, the New Museum, that I wanted to share with all of you! BOMB is partly comprised of interviews of artists by artists, so that night we were showing footage of one of the interview. (Sharon Hayes and Lawrence Weiner!)

First of all, the building itself is pretty breathtaking. The floor we had our viewing was on the top floor also known as the Sky Room.

Lady Liberty

Few have taken on the challenge of climbing all 354 steps to the very tip top of the Statue of Liberty, but last weekend..that was me. My good friend, Lindsay was visiting in town and really wanted to visit this iconic landmark, so we waited in the lines and froze on the windy boat ride over to the statue early Sunday afternoon.

Not too many people have actually gone all the way to the crown though. Some days it's even closed off, but we were lucky that it wasn't too windy that day. (The whole structure itself sways in the wind!) Most of the ticket holders are only able to get to the base of her foot, which is such a beautiful view in itself, but I'm so thankful she reserved tickets for us to go to the crown, it is definitely a must see. (Thank you Lindsay!!)

Brooklyn Flea

Remember the lace I found a couple weeks ago? It was from an insanely incredible place called the Brooklyn Flea Market. When it gets warmer out there are even more locations, but this one was enough even for me! The building itself is incredible. ...take a look!

Amazing? Yes it is.

People have obsessive Coke collection addictions.

Lots of the places at the Brooklyn Flea don't have normal flea market prices. (but it's NY..everything seems to be more expensive everyone says) Even some fashion designers bring their pieces here to sell that are absolutely gorgeous! But then again there are also places in here that will sell old boots for ten dollars. You just have to be on the look out!

I want to build a fort in the middle of all of these.

That painting is an inspiration for pieces in the making. (my lace to the left!)

These adorable flags are popping up in every small boutique and cupcake shop it seems!

A sight for sore eyes.

Tin letters! These would be so easy to make!

Reminds me of an artist I saw at The Armory Show last weekend...check out her work!

Columbus Walk

Starting in German Village...the most beautiful part of Columbus in the early fall.

Almost all of the roads are brick aka a no no for bike rides!

A very pretty Goodale Park inbetween downtown and Ohio State's campus

This topiary park is really close to our school's campus...it is imitating this painting!

If you're ever in Columbus...you have to go to this book store..32 jam packed rooms!

Short North! There are lots of boutiques and art galleries and really yummy restaurants here.

Swanky restaurants are there too.
